Is it a little creepy that celery keeps growing in the fridge, weeks after we've digested it? Yeah, um... I've been a little too busy to clean the fridge lately, wanna box over it???
Oh yeah. I've seen that. And the new growth on the carrots that got buried in the produce drawer. Plants wanna live, you betcha.
I remember my Mom engaging me in a celery experiment by placing sticks in a glass with water/food coloring mix. They suck it right up and it colors the stick. You could even slit the celery stick half way and make bi-color sticks by sticking each end in a different colored mix.
i hate the way leeks grow more from the middle than the outside. that totally creeps me out. It's like, okay, carry on growing, but do it all the same length, purlease

I'm often taken aback by what people put in the fridge to start with.

LOLOLOL what a funny post. Creepy yes, but this truly is a poster for the phrase "life goes on".
I am sure I have similar oddities in my fridge too. And DUDE have you ever had garlic sprout long green stalks???
